Start Searching SymbolsWhat Is Symbolwise?
Symbolwise is a comprehensive Unicode symbol explorer. Search thousands of symbols, emoji, and special characters — and copy them in the exact format your project requires.
Whether you need an HTML entity for a web page, a CSS escape for a stylesheet, a JavaScript Unicode sequence for your code, or just the raw character for a document, Symbolwise has you covered. Every symbol is available in six copy formats: Plain, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React JSX, and Markdown.
Symbolwise is completely free. No sign-up, no account, no limits.
Features
Search
Find any symbol by name, keyword, or Unicode codepoint (e.g., U+2713). Search results span symbols, collections, Unicode blocks, and articles — so you always find what you need.
6 Copy Formats
Every symbol can be copied as Plain text, HTML entity, CSS escape, JavaScript Unicode escape, React JSX expression, or Markdown. Advanced encoding details include UTF-8, UTF-16, named/decimal/hex HTML entities, and URL encoding.
Curated Collections
Browse symbol collections organized by theme: arrows, checkmarks, currency, math, Greek letters, emoji, decorative characters, and many more. Each collection links to related sets for easy exploration.
Unicode Blocks Browser
Explore the full Unicode standard through the Unicode blocks browser. See every official block with its codepoint range, plane, and indexed symbols. Click into any block to browse and copy its characters.
Symbol Details
Every symbol has a detail page with complete technical information: Unicode name, codepoint, block, plane, script, bidirectional class, combining class, decomposition, and normalization notes. Properties like emoji status, whitespace, math, and currency are also shown. The encoding table lists every format — ready to copy with one click.
My Symbols
Save up to 512 symbols to your personal library. Search within your saved collection, export in any format (including JSON for backup), and import symbols from text or JSON. Your data stays in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
How It Works
All search and copy operations happen in your browser. Symbolwise loads a comprehensive symbol dataset at build time and serves it statically. When you search, the query runs against a prebuilt index on your device — no server requests are made for symbol lookups.
Saved symbols are stored in your browser's localStorage. No data leaves your device when you save, search, or copy symbols.
Article and page content is fetched from a CMS for educational resources, but the core symbol functionality is entirely client-side.
